Looks great and that tail probably never stops moving in the water, that purple is a real grabber can you give that tail more of a green chartreuse tint?

I've been having all kinds of good success fishing Bear's little 1" Ice Minnow in open water lately and until tonight only had it shot in single colors. That super thin tail had me freaked as far as doing two color shoots involving the tail being a seperate color simply because there isn't much to work with and the fact that there is no way that these baits stay in the mold cavities when the mold is opened. I decided what the heck, I mean its only a couple ounces of plastic if things don't pan out and there's nothing on the boob so why not give it a whirl. I heated up some chartreuse scrap for the tail color and shot off three rounds, being sure to keep the fresh plastic laid out straight and flat before snipping off the tail section leaving a small end of the body intact. Then I got out the glasses and re-laid the tail pieces in the mold and shot the purple in to make the body color, holding pressure on the injector for about ten seconds after the plunger stopped. The purple plastic was heated to 365 degrees to help facilitate the welding of the two colors. I did the three rounds like this and here's the result.
The pruple/chartreuse tail baits are my absolute favorite of go to bait colors. This one is no exception. The tails welded great. Now I can say that two color adaptations can be made using this mold and that just takes my being so happy with this particular bait to a whole new level.

I have a green chartreuse that I can add in very small amounts to tone the tail more green. The plastic used in this trial run was scrap that I re-melt for personal use and then the camera and the lighting don't always show the exact color. The chartreuse here is actually quite vivid in the hand.
YUM, YUM those on site ?

I have to think about getting the split colors in the small minnow on site. Man, they are a headache to make. I just finished some bluegill with bright orange tails for some trial fishing in the rain tomorrow morning. I suppose if someone wants a dozen or two I'd make them but I can't see any way producing them in a large scale is going to happen.
Looks great after i get used to one color i may try some two color. i think with my mold i can hand pour the belly and inject the rest. You did a good job on yours Cub48.
I've got that mold too and love that bait. I have some two colored baits made just like that. Your right. It would be hard to make them in large numbers. I like the color combos You have there. Good job. I know they will work real well.CF

I just got back from the lake and have nothing but positive things to say about this bait in the colors shown here and the one with the orange tail. I actually got tired of catching fish. NOT!
