Default How to make them "POP"

I like the baits I have been able to make but all my colors seem to be dull. How do I make them nice and shiney? Also where do you guys get your paints, powders, etc from?

my colors look basic too. I guess I need to break down and buy some pearl colors. Is the pearl a powder base you add in to any color or is it a paint specifically certain colors. I have the bottles of like the pearl white and pearl silver, but are what people like keith using powders or oil based paints like the pearl white but in other specific colors?

I use powders, mix em up with different colors to see what they look like. Start with just a little. you can alway add some more but you cant take it away.

Okay I got a little jar of pearl powder but when I use it it lightens up my colors. Is there a such thing as a clear pearl powder? Also, like crappieseeker asked are there different color pearls or just the basic white pearls?

If its making it lighter than u want try using less of it. Doesnt take much at all to really glisten out in the sun! There are several shades of the pearl powders but i use white more than others.

When you say "POP" are you meaning brighter?? Like flourescent colors?

When I say POP I am refering to making them shine. My plastics seem to be dull most of the time. I could use some tips on making the colors more vivid also. I have a few flourescent colors and they are bright but still not much of a shine. I will try adding just a pinch of pearl on my next batch. Where would I go to find a better variety of pearls?

    Thanks in advance.

If You want them to shine, just dip them in clear plastic.CF

another factor is the mold its self, if the mold isnt polished then the bait will be dull. Also after your plastic comes up to temp let it sit, that will let the micro bubbles in it rise to the top. If you have a lot in your plastic when you shoot the mol the bait and color will look dull
