I fished with the tadpole while my buddy fished with the pintail minnow. Seems the pintail was more popular today but the tadpole held its own. I think the slim tail on the pintail helped it out in the cold water.; however, we were fishing two different styles so it is hard to tell if it was the bait or the style or both that made the difference. All I know is that color did not seem to matter on this trip. The bite was also very variable. Go to one dock and they would absolutely slam it. Go to the next and you would have to close your eyes to feel the tick.
