I believe this post is about sharing and showing people your techniques of making plastic baits everybody is here to learn and if we can learn something new from somebody else it is well appreciated I cared less if somebody takes my ideals and uses them on their own plastic baits or to sell them more power to him anyway that's why I am here to share my knowledge with other people.

Keith has always.been a stand up guy I admire. I remember when he was doing microspoons and I was doing a larger version I called a pinmin. He requested I not use microspoon pinmin in any of my advertising and I agreed not to. Chaunc could use that word because he was on Keith's Pro Staff. I was not.

Keith and Jessica spend a lot of time helping people more than many will ever know because they are humble people with a kind heart. I have also seen a lot of people steal their ideas to remarket and sell them as their own creation. That is so wrong. Now he has the opportunity of a lifetime to really go big time production with his business. That was earned by his hard work and sweat equity. No one has the right to steal his designed or techniques and say they created them.

Keith willingly offers suggestions and teaches.techniques on this board forum as do others including Snake River. I appreciate that because both of them have helped me tremendously. I use what they have taught me to make what I fish with and to teach youth. I will not make a product they created and sell it or the concept as something I designed and created. This is about what is doing what is right.

Just think, for example, anyone tying or pouring something in pink and chartreuse has to think they have to have the side electric or chicken or a variation on that theme somewhere in their product name. Just sayin.....

Many are using the same molds because they.buy them from the same companies. The difference is some of the techniques you and Keith use in bringing a bait to life by coloring, eyes and external designs.

I learned how to make glow jigs from Skip seven years ago. I have never broken that confidence or told anyone how to do them. I have never sold one either. Same with some tips Keith gave me on soldering to make my pinmins better. I respect his opinion on the validity of microspoon as his personal trademark. Whatever happens with his new venture, I believe we all wish him.much success. I know I will be praying for that.

Some things and designs must remain the property of the designer unless and until they share the concept and technique.

I think it is crazy to use someone elses personal pictures to sell things. Keith definitely knows how to make awesome baits and he takes better pictures than most people in the picture taking business. His baits look so eye popping and great in the pictures as i am sure they do in person as well. If I had a ton of money I would buy many things from him. He is the one who started the ball and got this DIY soft plastics section started. He has shared a ton of info. Sometimes I wish he would share more, but I respect the fact that his income is at stake by keeping a few things secret. Supporting his family is important. What he has already shared is a ton of info. Now for the copying of a color and saying it is trademarked is crazy. There is hardly a color out there anywhere that I have not already seen or seen a very close resemblance of. Many people call the colors by different names or whatever, but when it comes down to it, most all variations of colors have been used for years in some form of fishing bait. I can create many different colors and variations, but at some point in time others have done the same thing, so for someone to trademark a color is a crazy thing to me.

Thank you crappieseeker, the person just says the are trademarked but they are not. Couldnt do it if he tried. He just says it so no one copies him. lol aint it funny how it works. As ship said we have been through this over the years and all that tried are out of business. You just cant have a successful business copying others. They may get short term sales but that wont do it. There isnt much that hasnt been done before at sometime. Its a tough business to get in to. Just think of all the supplies you have to keep up with as well as the venders you have to use. You got to think ahead so you dont run out of anything and you must account for shipping times and lost shipments. I just ordered 100,000 eyes and they will take about 3 weeks to get them in. By the time I use half of them I gotta get the next order in the works. Then you got bags, labels, colorants, glitter and plastic to think about and keep up with.
