80. This colorant is thin.

80 Drops! good lord! I rarely use more than 8 LOL... You must have patience to count that out... But it is one VIVID orange color, good work!

Great job CTom, and I like your choice of colors. I got myself a Caney Creek Small Fry mold like yours a few weeks ago, but haven't stopped everything else long enough to use it yet. I plan to pour the chartreuse tails, then shoot laminate colors similar to your Junebug red one and have a question for you. Do you have any problems with the tails not bonding to the bodies? I've read in other soft plastics forums that sometimes the tails and bodies don't bond well when done separately like that. Any advice you might offer to me would be greatly appreciated. I already pour/shoot all my own bass soft plastics, but have yet to produce a crappie lure.

I shoot the full plastic then trim the tails I want. Actually I shot about 100 molds-full and sat and trimmed for an hour one day and have them bagged up now. I trim them with a single edged razor blade. I use the soft formula plastic, if that will make a difference. I leave just a smidgeon on the rear portion of the body on the tail, but trust me it is hair thin. When I get the primary color ready to inject, I add 10-12 drops of stabilixzer to a 4 oz batch and heat it to 365. The little extra heat really does a nice weld and I haven't had any seperation issues at all.

Hi CTom!

You and many others on this forum are part of the reason I enjoy spending time here. Y'all are always willing to share with others, and I try to make that a way of life. Thanks for the advice. I've read of others doing something similar to your method. That seems a good way to try it. I'll post pics whenever I do make time to try it. I'm not ever intending to sell any baits, just make them for my son and myself and maybe give some away to friends. In the meantime, do you know where I might get some good recipes for BGBS colors?
