Default How about this for a mold

I use to make plastic molds out of playdo. The playdo that the kids play with. I would spread the playdo with a doe roller, to about 3/8 of an inch. I would imbed the plastic body fully flush to level with the top. That would make a full body. I use to make those 1" grubs, 3" red worms for flyrod. All with no trouble at all. After I was finish with it, I would roll it up back in the container til next time. This is a Question. When and if you would make a real good impression of whatever you make, could it be baked in the oven and hardened. Never did it before, just an idea.

I for one do not know if you can do that with that material I'm sure that there is material out there that you could do this with I know plaster Paris could be hardened and usually glazed over and you would have a mold for ever but I do not know anything about playdo.

There is a baking clay (sculpey) is one brand name. This is not as soft as play-do but it is made for baking. Playdo contains some Vaseline so it will not bake to a solid form.

you can use many types of clay that you would put into a pottery oven and bake it but of course you would have to put some type of glaze but you would deftly have a mold that would last you a lifetime you could also use many types of clay and make a impression and pour plastic into them the same as you would do with the potty that has been mentioned.

I will look into the baking clay at Wally. I will run some impressions and see if it is soft enough to show all details. If it will work, I will bake it. Thanks fellows for you'll imput.

You will have to really keep working it with your fingers to get it to soften up.
