Ive been thinking all day what I could do with those bodies that you cut off from the tails.Came up with the idea of using a big needle to run a blood quill up the center of them and make fuzzy grubs out of them? Going to have to expermint with that!

Musky, I was thinking I could thread feathers or hair through the center of them and then just add the jighead.

Another way is to thread rubber legs through them. Makes a good bug for gills.

Yes, there's all sorts of rubber fly tying legs and spinnerbait skirt material, whatever a guy likes.

i run old plastic through a glue gun and it works great..for 2 color i made a tail mold and a full body mold..make a bunch of tails any color and insert them in the full mold and run the plastic through the glue gun with a push stick and they meld together perfect everytime because the temp. stays the same..my tails are as strong at the joint as the rest of the body... not alot of waste because you can control the flow of the plastic.you can do this with cheap rubber worms or other plastics instead of mixing your own..good luck.

i tried running some fuzzy silver thread and some straight thread pieces through the grubs but then when I put it on the jighead it messed it up. So I will have to experiment more. It looked great it just did not work properly. Tbone what are your molds made out of?
