A few years ago I watched a blue heron do the same thing across a channel from me. It stabbed a catfish along the shore line, got the fish onto the grassy area where it pulled the fish off of it's beak, then proceeded to swallow it heard first. Amazing to watch. I like your photo. Great shot.
