love your barrels---i have thought of the same thing as well as fastening two together with one on top----crappie hotel?!---let us know is they work out okay--have access to several barrels--

I built some last summer and put them in 30' of water , the top of barrels are floating at 15', also tied sweetgum trees to the barrels.will find out if they work this summer.

Here's a barrel i made last year,i wired some bamboo into the end of it and so far it is holding fish well.

My next batch of barrels will be a combination of what spiderman and bugman have made. hopefully these can take the place of willow branchs and bamboo buckets. the barrels are alot easier to tie 10' trees too, and when the wood has rottened the barrels will be there to last a long time.

Not sure just what crappie do because I can't watch them like brim, but I bet they do about the same.

Somebody posted a picture of a sunken ice fishing house that was crammed full of crappie.

Anyone know where this picture is? I have looked but couldn't find it???A link would be great. Thanks
