    That is why attach the blocks on both sides in the middle...it also allows fish to get under it; more `cover` for the same amount of materials.

    Depends on the wood type; most pallets are hard wood...some are imported extremely HARD wood. This summer a "Friend" and I looked at my 1st ever pallet sunk in CJ Brown, put in 20+ yrs ago as an inverted `T`. It is stillvisible on sonar, but the top has been bent over, likely by a boat anchor...that bad boy was stuffed with mulberry branches and took 6 10" blocks under it to ensure it stayed down...over the yrs it has produced like a thousand fish including several nice bass. Plus other people fish it too...
