First of all I am new to crappie fishing so basically I have no clue other than what I read. I have a question about the mossback rack. I recently bought the smallest 5ft version and tied it off our dock here at our local lake. The boat slip sits in about 35-40 ft of water at normal lake level. I dropped the rack ant tied it off so it would be vertically suspended at 20 ft. The top of the rack is at 20 ft and I believe the rack is 5ft long. Sorry so long but my question is how long before the fish start using this? I put it out 2 weeks ago. I was under the impression the crappie dont move much this time of year so I was thinking it might be spring or summer before they find it. This is mainly for the kids and I to fish on weekends. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks Kyle

Welcome from Nimrod Lake. Never used a store bought structure. I use nearly all brush , wood , and Bamboo . Have seen fish on some in a day and others never produce.

Not knocking anyones product but I know that folks have used bamboo buckets tied off the corners of their docks in that depth of water with good success.....and you can make them for a lot less than $100. Good luck, hope they hold fish...the kids will have a ball.
Yeah i.have learned now that you can make them but this thing will be good for the dock and last forever. We started building stake beads and bamboo structures thanks for the replies guys can't wait to try some crappie fishing
