    Default structure pics

I got several ideas on how to make some structures, but would like to see some of everybody pics of theirs if they have any. I am thinking about mine in the shape of a laydown using wood for the trucks and then making limbs out of pvc and roughing up the pvc with sandpaper to get the alge grow better. What is you tought on mine. O and of course weighting it down with a block.Thumbs Up

I have a couple of PICS of Crappie Structures that we have tried and improved on.

    Bamboo: 20' diameter - 8' Tall

    Boo Balls:

    PVC Tree:

    PVC Tree:

These Are The Ones We Have Gone To:

    PVC Tree (Horizonal)

    Bamboo Structure

    Bamboo Stake Structure:

i believe that the legs of PVC is better used, when running vertical, instead of sticking out horizontal like a tree. When you thing about it, lust say the crappie are hanging a foot off the bottom, then only the legs sticking out in that range would be giving crappie something to hang on. If you have a verital limbs, then all the limbs are hanging down, giving crappie many limbs to hang to, covering from the bottom to as long as the limbs you make them. Same with Bamboo that stands more vertical. Just bamboo stalks works great, just need to pit 3-4 buckets pre location.

    Lust and Old Man's Thoughts....

CK, how are you anchoring down the horizontal PVC trees? Tying cinder blocks to it?

We use 2 liter bottle full of cement, and attach a bottle to each end. We make the Horizontal Trees in 5' Tall X 5' Long and 3' Tall X 5' Long.

We usually fill Milk Bottle or any gallon bottle with cement, due to Boo is a little tougher to get down. We use the Boo Balls in specialized places. We use them for spawning crappie with Boo Balls that are 3'. Then we use them in deep water. 15'-20', and the thing we like, is they look like a Bait fish pod when seen on a sonar. We make these about 7' in diameter. Just figure how much you want them off the bottom, and adjust the line or wire to that distance. This is the first year for us to try them in shallow water for spawning crappie, so we'll see. But the deeper water Boo Balls work great. You can target certain depths of water.

This is cover, not structure. Contours, and the lay of the bottom, is structure. Just sayin!!! ;-)

Yes, Technically this is true. Being a School Teacher for 30 years make it hard to understand how that the Contours, and the lay of the bottom would be any kind of Structure. In any other use of the WORD, structure would be a Building, or something built. The contour is the changing of the lands surface, which under water is called Structure. Makes perfect cence. About as clear as MUDDY WATER. Rofl Not trying to change the terms we use, and I should use the correct one, but it would have helped if we didn't have a NUT, creating the terms.

Of course, I have been a Special Needs High School Teacher for 30 years, so I probably have a good reason for not understanding most people.

Just Kidding Around. Your Technically Correct. I should use the correct term, but doubt I will. Just get to typing, and normal reasoning takes over, and never realize that I am in error. But, now that I am retired, I don't have to care very much about being correct. As long as most people understand what I am talking about, I am communicating. And thats good enough for me. Well, except when I am talking to my wife, which is a Teacher also. Maybe I will try to use the CORRECT TERMS. banghead Holy Crap, I hope she doesn't get on here.... I better start deleting post. Got To Go.

    Thanks for the Correction.
