There is a new product line out designed to mark structure as you place it. If you have ever sunk structure you know how hard is is to keep track of where each unit lands. Now you can spot each crib as you sink them and remove and re-use. Works on any kind of structure and is all American made.

Yes thats right. when trying to place structure in a set layout. They allow you to install it with great accuracy and detail.
No more "hoping" they all landed where you thought.

If it works as it's supposed too, it can be a big help. My buddy & I used to talk about it and I've even been putting out stakes before and have the wind blow me into my marker buoy moving it off it's spot. If you try them, let us know how they work. Where do you get them & how much are they asking?

I usually just put out more than one of my regular marker buoys and sink cover. Then go over check with depth finder and try to check. Sometimes a pallet stake bed is hard to see on a cheap depth finder. More than one marker buoy helps in case one hangs on my boat. Then mark on GPS for ease of location later.

Agreed. I have done the same for many drops. The problem I see the spots solving is after 5,6,7...cribs sunk you can determine specific "holes" in the cover that fish will tend to use the most. We often set set a pattern similar to bowling pins. By leaving out a few specifis "pins", you can create access points within the cover. I'm looking to pinpoint fish at specific key angles preferable to drop, bottom makeup and current. There will always be better areas around structure than others. The problem with reading individual cribs on sonar is angle of cone and depth. As the boat moves over structure, it's hard to really know what crib your viewing. I like to mix a few types of structure together. By spotting specific cribs certain distances apart, you will learn that by creating spots within a spot will pay off. Look at it like setting deer stands in multiple spots for different wind directions. By taking a picture after all units are spotted, you now have an exact design of the whole area to fish the angles with pinpoint accuracy.

Spring Crappie fishing is getting close.Get your structure in as soon as possible. Make sure you have plenty of fine cover near spawning grounds for the fry to find. We always reccomend usind a number of different products for fish to choose from on any given day. Fishiding products offer maximum shade with the limbs being over 3" wide each. Save the landfills, save the fish.
