I have heard different opinions on where to tie up in ragards to your brush pile. I personally have always tied up to a tree/stump and had the boat positioned directly over the brush (in about 15-20' of water) and have had success. We just drop our rods straight down on the side of the boat.

Do you guys tie up so the boat is directly over the brush (so your bait is being dropped straight down just to the side of the brush, or tie up just to the side of the brush so your bait is dropped directly above the brush, or 5-8' off the brush?

I will be dropping most my bust piles in 15-25' of water.
