Thread: Zip Ties

Never have used ties for that purpose, but they make some pretty heavy duty ties and i can't imagine them breaking or getting brittle setting in water.

I use some on the deck at my home for various things and they have been out in the weather for several years, I can't tell that they have started to break down from the elements, and i use small ones. Just my opinion.

i look at this cause i thought you had found my first, and best spot. i dont do it any more cause you tell every one else where they are,but the one i had put them on, there are so many old trees there you cant see them if you dont know where there at. Try it and let us know.

Use the black ones, they have a UV inhibitor in them. They also have zip ties that have a metal core but they are expensive. I would like to see they finished condo when your done.

I have been using zip ties on my pvc sets for three years now. This past week I pulled a few of my tops and moved to different locations. All of the zip ties were still in good shape and holding strong. The tops I moved had been in the water from 2-3 years.

I have an idea I want to run by y'all. It's not gonna be popular with the local dairies. Zip tie 2 or 3 pcs of boo in each corner and once in between in a milk crate. Throw a half block or good size rock inside and presto. Could also put a piece of rebar 3' long thru and tie in place for a wider base. About like a 5 gal bucket in size but no crete. OK, input please.

I think it would work fine if you had a cheap supply of milk crates...

Good idea, you could also use pvc and make like a stake bed with it with a couple of crates tied together

ZIP TIES QUESTIONABLE.
