Thread: Out of Town Lunch

Took my wife to pick up a sewing machine yesterday but didn't know I would be buying three. The Bob Barker in me came out when I discovered the dealer had trade-ins of the preferred travel machines my wife likes. Not made anymore, actually parts are getting hard to find so I buy up spares if at a good price. Anyway we went to Ponchartrain Po-boys in Mandeville, La afterwards yesterday for lunch. Good people from " The Parish " that is St. Bernard parish to y'all non-locals. Bon Temps is from "The Parish" and that is why he is such a good cook! A tradition in the parish is Baked Macaroni a special preparation not found elsewhere. The special of the day was Veal Cutlets & Baked Mac. This is a normal portion, they just serve everything like Jethro Bodine has his Bowl out standing in line.



The Cutlets, each was as big as my IPhone. Of course I stepped up to the challenge and smoked them. To reduce the staff running for "to-go" boxes they have them stacked around the restaurant for self service if you are in a hurry. Most customers need a to-go box for their lunch specials.
