Determinate tomato plants grow to a certain height, set fruit on main and sucker stalks, the stalks are so thick you don't usually have to stake them, but when they are done they die. You sucker Indeterminate tomatos, as they set fruit you also prune some of the leaves to grow Monster Big Beef Steak tomatoes.
