I wouldn't hold them thawed over couple of days. When I thaw them, usually drain off water, and keep in fridge until next day. I had a few cat left over from Saturday that were thawed, cooked them Monday and they were still greattttt.

That is a long time for thawed fish to sit out. You can smell 'em and see if theyre alright but it might be safer to just sit some more out to cook.

I have some in fridge I caught saturday and ate some last night that was awesome. Will eat the rest by wednesday night or will put them in the freezer. A good rule of thumb for just about anything like meats is 4 days for me. I think its a stretch for 5 but I have eat on fifth day but thats pushing it in my opinion. As gabowman said, its safer just to sit some more out to cook at that time. Time would also depend on how cold you keep your fridge, how much its opened etc....

If you keep changing the water and using alittle of salt in it, you can add a couple of days on to it.
Lets go soak a line. Pat

I never like fish much over 3 days old. The ones you buy in the store mabe be much older. Colder you keep them longer they are good. Take time before freeze'n and add time thawed, it does not restart. If fish not frozen for two days and then thawed 3 days , those fish are 5 days old. I won't take chanes with old fish.
