    Default l4 month old crappie

Last night I found a bag of crappie in the deep freeze. That was burried underneith a Quater side of beef. The date on the bag said 12-23-11. I was not sure how this would work out. So I told the Wife after I cook the first batch. If it's not up to par, I wil run to town and pick up a pizza. I have to tell you. These fish tasted just as good as any fish we have had before. No Vacume sealer. Just good ole, fill the Zip Lock with water and get the air out of it. I won't be buying a Vacume sealer after this. I just put them in the sink in cool water for about 3 hours. Thawed to perfection no mush. Andy's Cajun and, 5 people polished off 30 fillet's. Life is good.
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin' and hook up with them later.

I did the exact same thing a couple nights ago. Tasted as fresh as they do when I catch them! These had been frozen hard for about a year. This was actually bass and shellcrackers!!

I tell you what, I have ate fish and deer and other thing that I have caught, killed or grown and have found them in the freezer well over a year old and they are better than anything you can buy. I think preservative ruin the taste and is not good for you either.

I put mine in freezer bags, then wrap in freezer paper and have no problems with year old fish/game. I think the freezing in water is a very good way to do it as well. I'm not sold on the vaccuum sealers as they are expensive and require that fish be dryed or partially frozen to get a good seal.
