    Question Vinegar BBQ Sauce

Does anyone have a good recipe for vinegar based BBQ sauce. I've been smoking some killer Boston Butts and making pulled pork BBQ. I've been using tomato based sauces because thats what Mrs. Speck likes but I'm more partial to vinegar based sauces. Thanks a bunch.

    Try this old family recipe:
    3 cups vinegar
    1/4 t salt
    1/2 T black pepper
    1/2t crushed red pepper
    7 T LeaNPerrin (worshire sauce)
    3 sticks of butter
    1/4 t cheynne pepper

simmer for 15-30 mins before using. Chicken gizzards and livers are GREAT/EXCELLENT in this. Cook the gizzards/livers in the sauce on a slow simmer until soft/done. Serve as an appetitiser. I have used this on chicken but no pork. It's an old family recipe from my granddad. If you don't like it "hot", cut back a bit on the crushed red pepper and cheynne, or increase as you want. On chicken, cut a whole chicken in half, clean, and then grill till its 'bout 2/3 rds done, then start doping the chicken with the bbq sauce. Serve with some fruit salad and french bread. YUM YUM. Brings back some good memories of meals with my dad, we use to cook this together while enjoying some adult beverages. We usually got "done" before the chicken got done. Thumbs Up

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

I can tell you what I use but I don't measure anything!

Mix equal parts of ketchup and Bulls-Eye BBQ
    Tabasco
    Worstershire
    Habanero
    Dried onions
Use vinegar to thin as needed

Makes an excellent sauce for Boston Butt-Ribs and Chicken
