My son wasn't able to hear until he was about a year old when he got tubes in his ears. No, not the kind you fish with. When he turned 2 my wife and I took him to the pool for the first time.
Him: (as we lathered him down with sunscreen) I want to get in the cat pool.
Me: In the what?
Him: The cat pool!
Me: (puzzled) In the what?
Him: In the CAT POOL!
Me: (looking at my wife trying to figure out what in the world he was talking about) You want to get in the cat pool? Son, I'm sorry buddy, but I don't know what a cat pool is.
I figured it out when he ran and jumped in the kiddie pool. Apparently he thought we were taking him to the kitty pool. I love that boy!
