Thread: Off Shore Tackle - DIY Idea Contest

Sometimes fishing here on Truman Lake with all the stumps and underwater tree tops, and if it is windy Ron and I use one of these slide hammer pipes I made up to drive into the top of the stump and then just hook the brush holder to it and just reverse the slide and pull out and go on.......

After trying several things, like rubber bands, tape,etc.... and instead of paying $3-4 dollars for a pair of rubber coated wire holders I found that soft solder in about 3/32" dia. works great, nice and soft, easy to wrap around rod and straighten's right out and may be used over and over...... and soft enough it doesn't scratch anything....... I cut two pieces about 7" long and they work for both ends........

Cane Pole should have been an obvious choice, but he only showed us all his accomplishments and ideas, he did not tell us how to do them. So I declair the winner to be:
