Here is a picture I took last night 8/8/11. The weather cooled somewhat late yesterday after dinner so I made the short trip across the street from where I live to Swift Creek Reservoir in Midlothian, VA to do a little vertical jigging off my favorite dock. Caught 15 crappie in 45 minutes, no monsters but allot of fun. Fish were holding tight to the dock around 7' deep in 9 to 12 FOW. Caught them on a 1/16 oz tube jig tipped with crappie nibbles. Sunset looked nice so I took a picture with me holding one of the average size fish for the day. I'm a lucky man.

. These were caught on my spring break with my dad. All my friends went to Destin , FL for spring break but I went to One Horse Store, AR.Rofl. My dad used his BnM jig pole thats 20 something years old with slaters black and silver jigs tipped with minnows. I used my brand new BnM ultra light jig pole with squirrel tail jigs that I tied tipped with minnows. They were caught on a resivoir connecting to jacobs lake on the Arkansas river. They were in 18 inches of clear water around cypress trees. They were caught on March 12, 2011. It was the first great fishing trip my dad and I had been on in nearly 10 years.

    Default 2 more

Two more nice ones from this year. Both from Swift Creek Reservoir in Midlothian, VA. Both caught vertical jigging off a dock, 6' to 8' deep over 12 FOW using a 1/16 oz blue/chart tube jig tipped with a crappie nibble. Both released. First one was 15" long, 2lbs even caught on 5-15-2011. Second fish was 16" long, 2.5 lbs caught on 4/19/2011.
