I have been soooooo busy. Been working a lot......, but also squeezing in some fun on the salty flats.
We still love it at Mosquito Lagoon. One morning we woke up and went fishing out on the seawall to catch some blues for crab trap bait and Terry caught a nice keeper Trout too. Then we went and checked the crab traps and baited them back up and came back with these (see picture below). Hung out the rest of the day and enjoyed the view and then went out shrimping later that night and got a gallon on the early tide. Now that was a fun day... :-). Where else can you get fish, crabs and shrimp all in the same day.
Crabs in the holding tank below... :-) We clean them, cook them, and pick the meat out to use for crab cakes and other recipes. If you want to taste some good crab cakes, these fresh crab make some of the best crab cakes ever!
Here's some cooked crab and some crab cakes (forgot to take a picture of the crab cakes after they were cooked). Can't remember if I posted these pics before or not.
We've also been getting a few of these... :-)
Princess with her fishy. She loves fishing. When we catch real fish she runs over and barks at them and tries to get them (maybe not a good thing... lol).
We did make the trip to Crescent a couple of times but the waves kept us out of the main lake. And Terry went to Monroe back in December with a Buddy and caught about 25 or so (10 keepers) and we fried those up. Terry also went fishing on Harney (I think Harney) with Phantom one day and got quite a few crappie and warmouth. Yummy!
But other than that we have mostly been hanging out at the Lagoon. We miss everybody!

P.S. In case you were wondering what I was doing up at 3:30AM... I'm actually in Maryland this week training on a new system and I couldn't sleep so I was surfing and saw this post on the crappie forum. Only time I have to catch up on surfing is the middle of the night when I can't sleep!... lol.
