If you want to learn more about the Fall Mississippi Camp scheduled at Pickwick Lake you can follow this link and read the stickies at the top of the forum: http://www.crappie.com/crappie/off-topic-mississippi/
Yankee Doodler and I attended the Arkansas camp (you can read more about that here: http://www.crappie.com/crappie/conte...-vacation.html) and the following week we attended Mississippi camp at Enid Lake.
Billbob's new Crappie.com sign out front of his camp site.
Deer were everywhere.
George P. Cossar State Park on Enid Lake in Mississippi is a very nice place, especially if you like to watch the deer. The deer here are not captive, but they seem down right tame. They walk right up to you and beg like a dog.
Part of the deer problem is people like this. The deer identified this friendly face and immediately started their mooching. Ennivator brought bags of corn to to feed the deer. And he just about supplied the whole park with corn so that every could enjoy feeding the deer. What a nice guy.
And if that was not enough. He had the nerve to cook this stuff up and draw in fishermen from all across the camp grounds.
Two helping later! The deer are full and so were the fishermen, including myself. The Etouffee was excellent. Ennivator I want to thank you for all your hospitality, it truly was a pleasure meeting you. Next time I'm at camp I'm gonna make sure your camp ain't to far away. See you next time.
Speaking of hospitality, here's Billbob delivering breakfast to Vonna and her mom. I don't think they let him in. I know I wouldn't have. I think they just grabbed the food and closed the door on him! lol And yes, Billbob does make a good breakfast of Biscuits and Gravy. Made a nice way to start the morning.
In fact, Vonna thought Billbobs breakfast was so good, she did not even try to throw Billbob out her boat. Good job Billbob, you definitely know which side your bread is buttered.
One day we even went to Sardis and caught up with Feelay. I think we caught maybe a half dozen fish and needless to say, Feelays boat limited out. Yes, he is a fishing machine, with a fishing machine (he has an awesome boat). If anyone ever wants a guide, this is the guy to use, especially on Sardis. Just send him a PM.
Friday we even had entertainment. I couldn't believe Torch coming down the road like this. It was a sight to behold, and he didn't even fall on his face.
Saturday Afternoon the festivities started.
The food was absolutely great.
Whole scaled and fried fish as I had as a child was a real treat. Seems to always taste better.
That bacon wrapped "whatever it was", was real good.
Paul and Vonna enjoying the food.
Prizes were given out after the eats.
Sat got a special T-shirt. That logo is quite fitting I might add. Just ask Speck.
Billbob received a"redneck" t-shirt just to make it official.
"G" received a well deserved 2012 Crappie.com Man of the Year T-Shirt.
Nice hats!
Couple gewbers having fun as expected.
It was a great turnout.
Take a look at the deer that's coming in to mooch from us. I I remember correctly, he actually sat in that blue chair and chatted with us for a while.
