• Whole dressed and fried crappie

    Here in central Florida the specks are big and plentiful this time of year. I have been longlining jigs in the shallow lakes with good success. I was taught a long time ago the best way to eat specks is to dress them out by removing the top and bottom fin and to cut a vertical and horizontal slit and work your breading in all crevices. Virtually boneless eating.

      that's how I like my BG and sunfish. meat comes right out of bones and still has the breaded skin on. WTG

      Oh yeah I do my gills and red ears the same way; try it with your crappie it’s incredible!
