Seems like all the fish have moved away from all of Bill's spots so I had to go find one of my own!!
Went yesterday before dark and it was dismal. Although I *did* find an old haunt that looks like they put in a couple cribs or stake beds, and marked it with a buoy? Fish on it, but none interested. Shoulda taken a picture with my livescope. Kinda cool to see that on Smithville. Anyway...three dinks on jigs and all the others were fussy eaters and didn't want what I was offering.
This morning I served meat. Got a dozen minnows from the marina and checked out a few more of Bill's places but no joy. Moved around the corner and picked up one good one and thought, "Here we go!!"
But then it was more of the disinterested fish. Lots of follows. A few were smart enough to bite the tail and get my minnow.
Eventually I did manage 6, with a few being decent, and a couple being barely 9.
Rain just spit on me all morning, and just when I was taking out, it came down in earnest for the drive home. Then the sun came out just in time for me to clean 'em.
Putting the rods up for at least a week. Maybe more?? So...I imagine I'll need to go hunting again when I get back cuz...I'm sure they won't still be where I left them!
