Here is a shot from yesterday morning heading out from the campground. Smoke on the Water. I had a hoodie on as it was a little chilly. Once I broke the tree line the wind was up so up river I went all 3 days. Shiners paid the bills once again. Finding trees with quality fish proved to be challenging but I came home with 18 need the net sized fish and 3 deep hookset shorts. Still caught more shorts but a fast hookset kept the hook in the shallow in the mouth. Fun times.
Typical box by quittin' time. The tea bottle I use to temper the shiner water so they don't go in shock with the different water temps. It really juices up the minnows to the point my float dances for quite a while before the baitfish get tired. I put a couple in every 10-15 minutes till I need to take some out before adding more. This usually gets me very close to the ambient water temps I'm fishing.
I'm thinking this is the smallest Black Bass I have ever caught. I snapped the picture and sent it to JigRig as he hasn't post a tiny one in a while. I still don't know how it got hooked as the shiner I was using for bait was almost as long as this bass.
Interesting observation this trip was the "Snipers" I have not seen them as far up as I did this trip. Several were out in the Horseshoe working the trees. I didn't see anyone hook a fish while I was in there but I saw several pitches to come up empty handed. Not sure what that means........................
