Bill got out just about 15 minutes before me. Sent me a pic asking where I was...





So I sent him one back...







Found him on my spot. He'd caught 4 by the time I got there, but they were all shorts!

I missed my first 4 hits. Couldn't figure out why they were short striking again!

Then I saw the problem:




I swear it wasn't like that when I dropped it in first thing this morning!! Musta broke off on that first fish. I didn't even get to charge him for a lip piercing!


I won't say how many I had and how few he had, I'll just say that between Bill and I, we caught a limit!!


I've been having issues with the LiveScope. It went wonky on me several weeks ago. What it has been doing is just showing a big slant, even though I'm on a flat. I messed with it then. Did a factory reset. No joy. Tried doing a calibration. Wouldn't leave 0% so couldn't complete it. Ended up turning off stabilization and changing the pitch angle to compensate, which worked okay, I guess, except when you turn it to the left or right or backwards, then it shows that big "drop off" that's not really there.

Anyway...Bill had sent me a link from a conversation over on BBC so I tried doing some things on the water. Disconnected the black box. Power Cycled. Reset to factory defaults. And lo and behold, it worked! I was about to call it quits but since I'd messed with it and it worked, I thought I'd try it out for a bit and see how different things are. Fished for about 20 more minutes or so and it went wonky again. Did the same exact thing. Gonna have to call Garmin, I guess.

So...went to start up the big motor and...nothin'. Battery dead. Or...dead enough where it wouldn't start, even though the livewell pump was working and the graph was still on.

Had to do some on-water battery rearranging to get the motor to fire up, and went home. For the record, I have one of those jump-starting booster things...I just didn't have it with me!! Or jumper cables. Lesson learned.

Got back home and cleaned these ones up.
