We launched at the Hwy 22 Bridge ands trolled to the bridge and pounded the blue cats. They were not cinder blocks like earlier in the summer but frankly I like the 14 to 16" size for frying. We stopped at 18 as the rain started to move towards us. Green worms on a drop shot with a #1 Circle hook was the ticket today. The cats are not stacked up in big groups any longer and the clouds of shad are ridiculous. My bet would be that the trout are at the mouth of the river gorging on all the Hugh schools of shad.
Lesson today is: Knowing I wont be fishing for at least 3 months due to a knee replacement in a couple of days I truly enjoyed every moment on the water. Life is too short to wish you had done it. Go do it now!!
Bon Temps!
