I made it to the lake @ 7:20AM and got lines going into the water at 7:30AM. Didnt take long before catching one....then another, and another. Felt like it was going to be a banner day but it did slow back down before long.
It started out cool this morning with air temps at 53* and barely a breeze. Wasnt but a few boats out early and it never really got "busy" where I was at but there was that occasional boat going by as expected on a Saturday and especially on a holiday weekend. Seen more pontoons than anything else though. The water temp was at 71* and some change before the sun came up. It was pretty stained but "plenty fishable". Ha!

Fishing stayed decent catching that occasional keeper along with 3 or 4 dinks. Then the wind picked up causing whitecaps where I was at. After awhile I determined there was nothing else I could do but go find calmer waters. After the move I caught a few but just wasnt marking much on the graph. I stayed with it until I noticed the wind dying back down. I moved again going back to the first place I started at this morning and BAM....fish was there and were biting. I stayed with it another 30 minutes or so catching the "quick biters" and decided with the heat building it was about time to quit for the day.
I ended up cutting the heads off 10 fish in the 9"-10" range to pull in the basket for fish on-the-bone.......my favorites. The 17 that I kept to fillet were in the livewell for the ride home.
Final tally caught and kept this morning....
