Our local sporting club opened Wednesday night skeet shooting today. So of course I went and had a great two rounds, shot my first 50 straight using my favorite 28ga Remington 870. Shooting is followed by dinner (dogs and burgers for the opener), normally I hang around and chew the fat but.... I knew the crappie were biting last night. I had told a friend of mine and 6lbtest that has permission to fish the same private water. He was into them pretty good when I got there at 7-ish. I whipped out a rod and had a great time helping him fill his pail. He was delighted at the size of the fish this year. He caught his personal best at about 14". I was t counting but he's got a few meals worth. As usual a nice bass ended up on my line also.
