Launched at Larousse Boat Launch in Thibodeaux, La on 2/18 to meet my Dad and Brother for a shot at some Lake Beouf Sac-A-Lait. Ran to the Bowie Canal area to fish some of the dead end Bayous. Started the morning Live Scoping the middle of the bayous just to see if the front pulled a few fish off the banks. The canals were slap full of bait and white bass. I saw big schools of white bass throttling shad on Live Scope. We started catching white bass just about every other cast but that wasn't our target species of the day. Ran the the back of HWY 307 canal where the canal turns from marsh to cypress. Started pitching Zman Shad FryZ in the Blue Glimmer and Space guppy colors about 14 inches under a cork to any hard cover that you could see. Fish were finicky and you literally had to force feed them, with multiple casts to the same target at different angles before getting them to bite. Sometimes it took 4 or 5 casts to the same stump or log before they bit.
Ended the day at 2pm with 37 decent sized Sac-A-Lait, 6 bass, and about a dozen big blue gill.
The next warm up we have in that area should get pretty good.
