Here's a couple of areas that still hold some color and leaves.
Water temperature was about 60. We were in to fish right away; my first one was the big perch of the night at 12" and .97 pounds with a big beer gut. Well, a belly full of eggs actually as it turned out. My partner would land another later on almost as big, the only 2 perch of the night; both went in to the cooler on ice.
Lots of average size bluegill tonight for both of us and some nice bass of around 14" or so and maybe a couple of pounds.
But not all of them.......
We worked for them but we did end up with some good crappie, just not a lot of them. We'd end up with 5 on ice with the perch; here's a couple that I managed to hook and land.
Pretty sure they were all near 12"; we did land one double crappie hookup, too. And that was when 870 kicked over the jar of crappie nibbles on to the cooler top! We had to think that one through for a minute until I grabbed both fish while he herded all the nibbles back into the jar.
I kept an eye on the sky and captured this nice sunset to cap off this unique Halloween trip.
We called it day just after 6. A total of 63 on the clicker and 7 in the cooler made for a fun trip and quick cleaning.
