My work day dragged on later than usual and I decided to fish a small pond closer to home that I haven't visited yet this year. I had lines in the water about 5:40 with high hopes for some good action. This was a "grab and go" type of trip and I chose not to bring the sonar as I'm pretty familiar with the pond from my many previous trips.
I would troll all night due to the wind; weather front is coming from the west but my wind tonight was coming from the northeast with some some oomph. Full cloud cover so the light was very subdued.
I won't drag the story out but a grand total of 5 fish would be hooked and released tonight; 2 small crappie, 2 average bluegills and 1 nice rainbow trout.
I didn't bring the measuring stick tonight but I'd estimate that one at about 15-16", taken on a Roadrunner with a crappie stinger tail, black & chartreuse. 4 of the 5 fish would come on that combo.
I tired of the wind and called it a night about 7:40 ahead of the showers; I got everything unloaded and put away just as the they started.
