We fished that spot for a good 30-60 minutes and landed 8 really nice keepers on that spot. Stumps took a couple of our jigs, but that is part of fishing.
We hit a bluff a short distance away and caught 2 short crappie before deciding to go to our second offshore spot and find bigger fish. We caught several fish on my second favorite offshore spot. 4 more keepers and 1/2 dozen short crappie and 3 yellow bass before we hit our second bluff shortly before we quit. It yielded another good keeper and 3 short crappie and a tiny bass.
I scouted and marked another offshore spot that I used to fish a lot and catch crappie on, I don’t know why I quit fishing this spot, but I do know that bass fishermen love this spot. A spot where a ditch dumps into the main channel.
Current flow was 13K and surface temp was 84. Lure colors that were good were Lights Out, Screamer, pink Phantum, Diamond Mist, and Green Banana. 3/32 oz jigs today and the fish were on a 17-20 count down before we began our retrieve. I kept yellow bass and crappie. No trashy green fish riding today. Grin.
