• Sunday fishing

After a busy morning yesterday out in the sun and heat, I loafed for a couple of hours before loading the boat and heading out to see what might be biting. Air temp was 86 with acceptable humidity compared to what we have had and water temp was 85 out over the basin. I'd spend an enjoyable 2 1/2 hours slowly rowing and occasionally jigging as I worked a weed line up the pond and then turned around and headed back. Lots of good fish were landed and some pictures were taken.

That last one in the net would go 13" on the board; one of 3 that would come topside.
Also landed some nice bluegill and perch.

I was fading fast as the dusk settled in and called it a night at 8pm. Might have stretched the trip out another 15-20 minutes but I chose to leave them biting and head home to the AC and a hot shower.
31 fish were landed, about 10 bluegill, 2 perch, 1 nice pickerel over 20" and the rest were crappie, the smallest being 9" on the ruler. All in all, a very nice summer evening on the calm waters. With 3H weather forecast for the upcoming week (hazy, hot and humid, heat index over 100 expected) it will probably be a while before I get out again.
