The Magnolia Crappie Club, the nation’s oldest running crappie club is hosting its 4 th Big Mama Open
Crappie Tournament at Grenada Lake Mississippi, Saturday, March 23, 2013. Entry fee is $100 per team.
Teams can consist of 1, 2 or 3 people; the 3rd person must be a school (college included) age child. Early
registration and rules orientation will be held Friday, March 22, 2013 at the main pavilion at Grenada
Lake Landing, followed by a barbeque. Late registration will be Saturday at 5:30AM – 6:15AM at the
pavilion at the main Grenada Lake Landing. Start fishing time is 7:00AM till 2:00PM. Weigh-in Line closes
at 3:00PM.

This is the first year for the MCC to include a BMO spring pre-spawn tournament. The fishing will be
awesome; we’ve heard numerous reports of over 3# crappie caught at Grenada in the last few weeks.
The pre-spawn is in full bloom; the fish are fat as can be; don’t dare miss the chance of a lifetime to
catch one of those Grenada Sows. We’re expecting 100+ teams for this tournament so please join us.

MCC started hosting the Big Mama Open Tournament September 25th 2011 with 63 teams from 6
different states. MCC members Eli Rowell and Perry Herring won the 1 st event with a 2.79# slab.

In September of 2012 we held our 2nd BMO with 69 teams from 7 states. Dave and Darlene Roach of
Horn Lake, MS won with a 2.46# slab.

September of 2013 was the date for the 3rd BMO with 75 teams from 9 states. Chuck Matthiesen from
Dewitt, IA won the 3rd event with a 2.90# slab.
