My Dad and I normally fish the day before Thanksgiving, but this year we had some schedule conflicts so we postponed until Black Friday. It had been several months since either of us had been on Lake Murray so I wasn't expecting too much, but I was excited to get the chance to share the boat with my Dad. We used to fish together often, but we don't get opportunities to go as often now. I was surprised that the boat ramp traffic was relatively light when we arrived a little before 7 AM. We got on the water fairly quick and started our search. It didn't take long to a find a few and we focused our efforts on brush. We saw a few open water fish, but fish on brush seemed to be more active for us. We ended the day at 11 AM with 40 in the box and joked that there was a Black Friday sale "on-the-line". Water temp was 59 degrees and fish were caught in 12-18 FOW. Black Sheep jigs and minnows were the key for us. No particular color seemed better than another. All in all it was a great trip with plenty of laughs and memories made.
