My granddaughter joined a fishing club at school and the first scheduled trip was yesterday. She asked me if I would volunteer and take her. I of course said I would. She got an email that morning and the teacher running the club was sick and wouldn't be attending. She was so disappointed but I said let's go anyway so off we went. Cool and breezy but we made it work. She got the skunk off on her first cast and caught a nice male gill. Wind picked up and bites were down but she did catch five more for the couple hours we fished. I had a mixed bag for the day, nothing big but it was fun being out with her.
Glad y’all got to go together even though the original event was cancelled. I’m sure some great memories were made and I think her smile reflects just that! Thanks for sharing with us.
Y’all had a mixed bag and it appears a great
, never to be forgotten day , together.
My 2 daughters remember and talk about spur of the moment fishing trips at a drainage canal down the street from our house where all we caught were tiny sun perch more than the planned expensive boat trips where we limited out on specs and reds at Delicroux Island La.
Don’t over think it. Just take them on a fishing adventure as often as possible.
WTG Grandpa!! Days like this will long be remembered. Little trips with my girls are still spoken of and they’re now 38 and 40. Good BG of fish too. Good Job Mister!!
