As the front moved off, the humidity went with it, the sun came out as did my friend the wind but I was itching to fish so off I went. I picked a smaller pond that I hoped would not be too windy and it actually wasn't bad. Air temp at 74 when I launched just at 5, water temp about 75.
I've fished this water often in the past and have done well here but not tonight. I went an hour and a half before I was able to land a small bluegill to break the skunk. A small perch got a hole in the lip and got off before I could bring him over the gunwale a bit later. Both came trolling, found nothing casting edges. Finally, I had a brief flurry of action and managed 3 crappie in the space of about 20 minutes. Well, it seemed like a flurry after the slow conditions I'd endured earlier. All 3 about the same size of around 11" or so.
I'd poke around for a while more, landing a couple of small bluegills before calling it a night at 7:45.
