We caught our fish on bluegrass color 2.25” plastics and 1/24 oz jig heads. I tried to get Phil to fish with the bluegrass from the beginning, but after a few casts without a bite, he finally changed to a pumpkinseed color slab slayer and caught the first fish. About 30 minutes later after I put 6 keepers in a row into the live well, he finally put the bluegrass lure back on and then caught 6 in a row before I finally took control of this little contest. Lolol. Slab sauce probably helped me to edge Phil out on numbers. I used it and he never did.
North win brutal today as it changed from NE to NW directions and some pretty good gusts. Many times our jigs would end up 25 feet to the side of our target spots. We slow rolled the jigs to make the fish bite. They wanted it moving.
Over all, I probably beat Phil by a couple of fish.
