Crappie fishing

Dr Phillip G and I had a new crappie hotel to put in our lake this morning, so after that was accomplished, we decided to fish for a while. We had a productive trip with more short crappie than our 8 keepers, but we also added 2 yellow bass, 1 small spotted bass and 1 bluegill. Fun morning.

Phil had been to a local fishing store and bought a new reel and had one rod repaired, and ran across some new to us crappie lures that are like baby shads in a good looking Blue/white body with chartreuse tail so we tried them out. The crappie loved them and now I do too. Lolol. The fish that we caught were deep, around 20 feet deep. The surface water temps have been coming down for the past couple of weeks. It was down to 81.4 this morning. Come on mid 60’s and the fish will be jumping in the boat.
