The animal planet goes wild this time of year. Fish get more active too. Fish leave deeper waters to follow bait. As the shallow waters cool, they find new haunts to feed. Are you ready?
Choose the best fishing days before you go. A little planning now will result in more fish in the boat. Drag your calendar out and check the weeks of the growing moon. Better yet, go to The Old Farmer’s Almanac web site and check the rise and set. For example, on November 2, moonrise is 8:47 PM moonset is 10:18 AM. Therefore, a morning trip may be better than the afternoon.
If that day does not fit your schedule, the next day may work. Just remember the moonrise will be about 58-minutes later than the day before.
Checking moon phase is great. Choosing moonrise and set is even better.
Choose your fishing days wisely. Besides, you can rake those leaves another day.
