Big thanks for this forum. A wealth of knowledge skills and comradery shared to all. I have been able to step my game easily and considerably also the engineering and design of Mr Gene handiwork.
A good outing but not like the videos. HAHA
FIRST TIME. Spider rigging and using foot control trolling motor, mostly casting and vertical jigging. I plan on making some changes with rigging. I was using 4 pounds test going with 8 Wrapped egg weight going to swivel. Broke loop knots going to improve clinch knot. Net sitting vertical.
I gained a lot of confidence Spider rigging in new lake. Caught a keeper 3 by catch and missed 4 keepers. One was 2 pounds +. All beside the boat.
To complete my day as a final finale Iin the wind I hung up on a mound and had to break off lines and cut but saved 2 of 8 jigs. Chinese fire drill. Deptfinderbehind me. Kept turning around to see graph/chirp. No broken rods and a good day
    I ALWAYS WEAR MY PFD
    PLEASE WEAR YOURS
    Open for all suggestions

Great post, thanks for sharing! The day will come when 4 or more of those rods will go down! Talk about chaos, but a memory you won't forget.

Wow! Nice crappie. I don't worry about line size as much as losing a big fish so I use 10-12# line and never seem to have problems spider rigging. Great looking setup. Thanks for sharing the report and pictures.

Just a bit of advice after years of spiderrigging in tournaments and for fun, you desperately need to move your depth finder to the front, positioned so that you can see it and your rods at the same time. Makes all the difference in the world!

Thank you sir. The more impressive slab waved her tail at me and swam away haha. Gonna make some tackle changes.

I totally agree. I have some extra transducer cable to work with but not sure how much( stowed away in tunnel where wires are run. If not enough they offer extension cable. Ivan easily rig up a mount for raymarine dragon fly 7
That might fix the crick in my neck

      Ok guys question???
I have shimano IX1000 reels. Most of y'all are know them. What size line can I use on them. I keep spools about 3/4 way full to eliminate line flying off spool like super man flying. I plan on using #8 Mr crappie. I use to use suffix line most of the time. My eyes like hi viz
