• Fishing Report New Johnsonville area

I have been trying to find a new spot to troll for crappie in the I-40 to highway 70 area it is hard to do at, at least for me. This year I have caught an awful lot of short fish. That is ok but still prefer to find the bigger fish. I tried this new spot last week and caught 9 crappie (8 were keepers), the biggest flat head I have ever caught and a limit of LMB. I decided to go back again and this time I caught 22 got my limit only 2 were short. Kept 18 white and two black crappie. I was looking for structure and really have not found any yet. With the bottom dropped out I figured the fishing would be hard. I used a new technique yesterday normally I do this by accident. I got as close to every channel marker that I could and found over half of my fish right on the buoys. Only took me a couple of years to find this spot so before someone PM's me to find where I'm at, please spend your time on the water and find your own. I was using bomber 6a's various colors. I changed colors a lot because of the partly cloudy day. My down rods were bandit B100's root beer colored.
