• Poverty point

Started out on south end of the point this am. The crappie bite was pretty slow all morning. Looked and sounded to be slow for everyone. Wish I could say the same for the goo but they were out in full force today, caught at least 2 dozen, maybe more. Ended up keeping 12 good crappie and 7 cats. All caught on south end 16 to 18 ft deep on a mixture of shiners and 20watt special hair jigs. Tried north end of lake for a hour with no luck. Water temp was 53.

Big crappie was 2.25 and big cat was 6.31. Had a goo for ppg bigger than that but didn't weigh him. Sorry....

Wow! Nice catch. Thanks for sharing the report and pictures. "what is a goo"= Freshwater drum, in the south, are called gasper goo. Gasper is from the same family of fish as the saltwater redfish.
