• Braved the temps and wind

Woke up early and decided I needed to feel the tug of a slab, Temp was 48, Wind was about 10mph, Lake was slightly choppy so out I went, long lining, speed was just over 1mph thanks to the wind. First fish was a 14 1/2" slab. Ended up with 12 slabs and 14 bass. Bass are schooling in about 7 foot, Slabs were in 8-10ft. Had a great 3 hours. Today was one of those days that color and style was not important. Caught them on grubs, twist tails, and Hal-Flys. I was using Blue, Cotton Candy, white, pink, green, yellow, gray, and purple, they hit them all.

Dad always taught me to always share, There's plenty of fish for everyone. Dad always let everyone know where they were biting. Because of his openness I feel the fishing gods smiled upon him and gave him limit after limit, even when others were getting skunked.
My son and I still fish out of dad's boat (the one below). people always ask me what I look for on my fish finder, I use no electronics, Just the little blue boat, a 1966 Mercury 9.8 and a trolling motor. not the fastest boat on the lake but what it lacks in speed it more than makes up for with luck.

Nice job. I have fished out of a lot of those old 14' V bottoms, my boys tell me that one of those is still the favorite boat we ever owned. I use to let them carry a buddy along and I guess that is why they liked it so good. Mine had an old 9.9 56 model Johnson. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
