So... Finally figured out how to post pics using tapatalk, finally found a hot brush pile, and finally zeroed in on some slabs!! started spider rigging around 10 a.m. yesterday, tuesday the 4th of april and caught a few dinks, then all at once in 8-10 ft of water I snagged up on something (out in open water) and was trying to get unhung when my other rods slammed the water with fish on. I instantly threw the anchors out and wouldn't you know I was set up on the only structure within a 150 yard circle and started slamming fish. they hit every jig color we threw at them from red, electric chicken, black, chartreuse with or without minnows. fish would hit anything. we caught 62 total, threw back 13 smaller fish, average size was 10-12" with our 2 biggest 15" and 15 1/4" (the two I took pics of). wife had one at the boat that the mouth tore on and got away that was at least 17" and 3" wide across the back!!! we left the brush pile for a bathroom break and when we came back (sadly I do not have a fish finder) we spent 2 hrs with grab hooks trying to find it again, the wind was blowing so hard when we did find it we caught 4 fish real fast boom boom boom, then the wind pushed us (anchors wouldn't hold) and it was getting dark so we loaded up. anyway real good day at the lake with the new boat and my 60 dollar spider rigs!
