    First fishing trip of 2016. Mike and I caught around 30 crappie with a dozen keepers over a pound. The largest crappie was 2.54 pounds. I also caught one of the largest Green Carp (aka Largemouth Bass) I have ever caught and it was fun on a 14 foot Caps and Coleman crappie rod. Pushing double minnow rigs in 35 FOW. The fish were holding around 25 feet deep. The big crappie and the Green Carp were released to be caught again one day maybe!




    I always said if I caught a Crappie over three pounds that I would have it mounted. I guess I am old because I would take a pic and put it back now.

      Nice fish Earl, happy to see you put the big fish back. I said the same thing about mounting a 3lb crappie but when I caught one I took a pic and gave her a kiss and released her.
